A blind veterinary nurse has been awared damages and her old job back for being unfairly sacked due to her sight loss. She was confident of being able to continue in her old job, treating and assessing animals. Recently Radio 4 covered this story in the light of many people becoming atagonised by disabled people making ridiculous claims for their rights. Does this seem ludicrous to you, as a vet nurse relies on sight, to diagonse many health problems in animals.

Uhm no, not necessarilly. I don't know the proffession that well, but often times ways around the use of sight can be found. If she can find a different way todo the same job, let her have it. It all depends on if she can find a way to do the job or not.

I agree in part.. however, I consulted a vet who I've known since aged 10, and she assured me that it is a very visual job, from the 1st moment you see the animal you are assessing it for clues to diagonse its ailment. There was another case involving a group of vi train passengers, forcing 3 carriages to be taken off the line, because they couldn't read the notices telling them where to get off ect. Now those people are crammed onto a smaller train which no doubt is now more risky for them than the previous 3.

um, ok, there are some jobs that require sight and well all though a blind person may be able to do some of the tasks, well they will need help, so don't really know how practical it would be, would you let a bllind person draw blood, um, think not
